Materials I Used
I’m excited to share my latest work with you, a piece that has been both a challenge and a joy to create. This colour horse portrait, done with Prismacolor pencils on stone pearl grey paper, features a majestic brown and white horse adorned with intricate headgear.
The Inspiration
Horses have always been a source of inspiration for me. Their grace, strength, and beauty are unparalleled, and capturing these qualities in a colour horse portrait is a rewarding experience. The headgear on horses, in particular, adds another dimension to the art. It not only enhances their regal appearance but also provides an opportunity to explore intricate details and textures
Working with Prismacolor pencils on stone pearl grey paper allowed me to achieve a rich depth of colour and detail in this colour horse portrait. The smooth yet textured paper is perfect for blending and layering, which is essential for capturing the subtle variations in the horse’s coat and the intricate details of the headgear.
As I work, I make sure to keep the paper clean from pencil dust. This is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the colour horse portrait. I use a soft brush to gently sweep away any dust, ensuring that it doesn’t smudge or affect the quality of the work.
The Details
