A Family Friend

Hello, I’m Robert Shirt, and I have a deep passion for drawing dogs in colour. Recently, I completed a colour Rottweiler portrait drawing, and I’d love to share my process and the joy I find in capturing the essence of these wonderful animals.

My Love for Drawing Dogs

Drawing dogs has always been a source of immense satisfaction for me. There’s something incredibly rewarding about bringing out the unique personality and spirit of each dog through my art. I particularly enjoy working with coloured pencils, as they allow me to create vibrant, lifelike portraits that truly capture the depth and emotion in a dog’s eyes.

We lost our 13 year old labradoodle in September. She was the love of my husband’s life, so I ordered a bespoke portrait of her for his Christmas present. The whole process was extremely easy. I sent several photos to Robert and he chose one that he could work with. He kept me informed of the process and sent a photo of the finished portrait for approval.
