Realistic Labradoodle Dog Portrait in Coloured Pencil

Realistic Labradoodle coloured pencil portrait with soft curls and warm highlights, hand‑drawn on Stonehenge paper—lifelike Labradoodle pet portrait.

This portrait features a Labradoodle, and I set out to capture the breed’s soft curls, gentle highlights, and expressive gaze. In this Labradoodle coloured pencil portrait, I focused on the wavy texture around the muzzle and the warmer tones through the coat, building up depth and realism to create a realistic Labradoodle dog portrait. The result is a piece that celebrates the character and charm of a Labradoodle pet portrait, rendered with careful layering and fine detail on Stonehenge paper.

Materials & Process

For this Labradoodle portrait, I worked on Stonehenge paper to support multiple layers and clean edges—ideal for sculpting the breed’s signature curls. I established the core forms, mapped the direction of the coat, and gradually developed the soft waves to bring life to this Labradoodle dog drawing. Subtle glazing and controlled pressure created the natural sheen associated with realistic Labradoodle art, while selective edge work refined the curl definition expected in custom Labradoodle artwork. This approach lets the texture feel tactile without losing the softness that defines a Labradoodle coloured pencil portrait.

Labradoodle Portrait
Labradoodle Portrait@Linda Harris
We lost our 13 year old labradoodle in September. She was the love of my husband’s life, so I ordered a bespoke portrait of her for his Christmas present. The whole process was extremely easy. I sent several photos to Robert and he chose one that he could work with. He kept me informed of the process and sent a photo of the finished portrait for approval. He had produced a beautiful picture in coloured pencils that exactly captured our doodles expression. I chose the option to have it framed and it was finished and sent to me in plenty of time for Christmas. Needless to say my husband cried when he opened his present and the portrait now has pride of place in our living room. Thank you Robert for giving us not only a wonderful present, but one that we will cherish forever.

Our son presented us with a beautiful portrait of our Weimaraner completed by Bobby 2 years ago. We were so delighted with it that we commissioned Bobby to do a portrait of our now companion, Amber the Vizsla. Absolutely delighted with the portrait just received, thank you so much Bobby, you are extremely talented. I would recommend Bobby for any portraits you would like, perfect results everyone.
