Chihuahua Drawn In Coloured Pencil

This hand‑drawn portrait of a long‑haired Chihuahua was created using a combination of Prismacolor and Derwent Lightfast coloured pencils on Stonehenge Kraft paper. The warm tone of the paper helped bring out the dog’s soft, flowing fur and expressive features. My focus was to capture those bright, glassy eyes and the characteristic feathering around the ears that make this breed so charming.

We lost our 13 year old labradoodle in September. She was the love of my husband’s life, so I ordered a bespoke portrait of her for his Christmas present. The whole process was extremely easy. I sent several photos to Robert and he chose one that he could work with. He kept me informed of the process and sent a photo of the finished portrait for approval.
