These two Domestic Shorthair calico cats have completely different markings and expressions, and that made them a fun pair to draw together. I kept the style simple and natural, focusing on their eyes and the unique patches of colour that make calicos so charming.

I enjoyed balancing the warm tones in their coats without over‑detailing anything. Both cats have their own character, and the aim was just to capture that honestly rather than overwhelm the drawing with too much texture. Putting them side by side worked well — it gives the portrait a calm, friendly feel.
