“Black English Cocker Spaniel” – Acrylic Portrait.

This portrait captures a Black English Cocker Spaniel, painted in acrylics on a 20″ x 24″ panel. I used a combination of Liquitex Soft Body and Winsor & Newton Professional paints to build those deep, glossy curls and subtle highlights that define the breed’s beautiful coat.

I kept the background soft and atmospheric to let the dog’s character take centre stage—those soulful eyes, the gentle tilt of the head, and all the intricate texture in the fur. My focus was on bringing a calm, natural presence to the piece, blending realism with a warm, outdoor setting that complements the spaniel’s charm.
