This artwork features a Beagle mix portrait, highlighting the soft tri‑colour coat and gentle transitions across the chest and shoulders. I wanted this Beagle cross dog portrait to capture the dog’s markings and natural character, building depth through subtle layering and careful attention to fur direction.
The front‑facing seated pose gives the portrait a friendly warmth, making this Beagle‑type coloured pencil portrait feel approachable and expressive. The toned paper helped enhance the browns, creams, and charcoal tones beautifully.

For this Beagle mix artwork, I worked on a mid‑tone paper surface that supports both strong highlights and deeper shadows. I sketched the structure of the coat first, then slowly developed the softer areas, paying attention to the smooth fade of colour typical of a Beagle‑type dog drawing.
By combining layered strokes with gentle blending, the coat gained dimension and texture, bringing this Beagle mix coloured pencil portrait to life with depth and clarity.
